Saudi Arabia plans to invest $650 billion in infrastructure projects between the years 2006 and 2015, according to Hussein Al Athel, secretary-general of the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI).
Addressing the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) delegation that recently visited the capital, Al-Athel invited Brazil, one of the kingdom’s “priority trade partners,” to participate in this process.
“Companies from other countries are in Saudi Arabia. The opportunities for Brazilian companies are also great,” he said.
Michel Alaby, secretary-general of the ABCC, and Brazilian Ambassador Luís Sérgio Gama Figueira, participated in the meeting. ABCC secretary-general suggested the creation of a joint governmental committee and a business council between the two countries to discuss trade and joint investments.
Companies represented in the delegation included Granimex, (marbles and granites), as well as the Espírito Santo Ornamental Stone Union (Sindirochas-ES).
