Giancarlo Tonini is the new President of Internazionale Marmi e Macchine
The shareholders' meeting of Internazionale Marmi e Macchine Carrara Spa gathered on April 30th to appoint a new Board of Directors and a new President.

For the next three years, the new President of Internazionale Marmi e Macchine will be Giancarlo Tonini,
a Carrara-born entrepreneur, aged 49, that for a long time had been one of the Directors of IMM and for six years a governor of the Manufacturers' Association.

As well as managing the family-run business that bears his name, the newly appointed president is a member of the Board of Directors of other important companies.

After the appointment of the new president, the Board of Directors of Internazionale Marmi e Macchine will be composed as follows:

Tonini Giancarlo - President;
Loris Barsi - Deputy-President;

Directors: Bernieri Giancarlo; Biselli Leandro; Canali Aldo; Figaia Riccardo; Ganapini Gionni; Maggiani Cristina; Rossi Stefano; Vanelli Primo; Giusti Gianfranco; Neri Fabrizio; Rovai Fabrizio; Tonarelli Arnaldo; Guerrieri Claudio; Vatteroni Italo; Nicolai Cesare; Forti Antonio.

After the closing of the shareholders'meeting, and after being congratulated by the shareholders (the company's shareholders include the Municipality of Carrara, the Region Tuscany, the Provinces and the Chambers of Commerce of Massa Carrara and Lucca, the Municipality of Massa, as well as many other private and public shareholders), the newly appointed President stated "I am particularly honoured to be appointed President of Internazionale Marmi e Macchine Carrara, the most important company for the world-wide promotion of marble. The trust that the shareholders have placed in me will motivate me further to continue, along with the other Directors, the work made by President Luigi Danesi, who presided the company before me and who I wish to thank for the work carried out over these years.

The next few months will be particularly important for the company, not only because the International Fair of Marble, Machinery and Services will be held soon, but also for the other, many goals that the company has set out for itself.

We will all be very busy pursuing the goals set out by the shareholders, in a climate that, I am sure, will be one of proactive co-operation, in close connection with the regional and district institutions, with the trade associations, with the stone district and the business world in general, which finds in the fair an important landmark and a significant venue to face up to the challenges that the future has in store for us.
