Jan. 4, 2007 (China Knowledge) – China’s imports and exports in 2006 would exceed US$1.75 trillion, a 24% increase year-on-year, according to the Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM). This foreign trade figure is close to MOFCOM’s previous estimates of US$1.758 trillion. December’s figures, however, were not revealed by the ministry. Since China's aggregate trade surplus surged to US$156.521 billion in November, a massive increase compared to the mere US$102 billion for the full year of 2005, the projections would mean that trade surplus have decreased from November's US$22.9 billion to December’s US$11 billion.
