Jan. 19, 2007 (China Knowledge) – McDonald's Corp. has signed an exclusive 20-year agreement with China oil giant Sinopec to build drive-through restaurants at its petrol stations, said McDonald's (China) Co. Ltd. CEO Jeffrey Schwartz on Friday. With Sinopec having about 30,000 petrol stations in China, Schwartz said that even a percentage as small as 1% will give McDonald’s 300 potential locations. McDonald's currently has 780 restaurants in China. McDonald's has pushed to set up drive-through restaurants in China in a bid to cash in on a rapid rise in car ownership in the world's second-largest car market.
