Jan. 23, 2007 (China Knowledge) – Jinan Yinquan Technology Co., Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of China VoIP & Digital Telecom Inc. <CVDT>, Monday announced expansion plans of its proprietary Voice-over Internet Protocol (VoIP) services to Beijing and Shanghai. Marketing efforts will begin in Shanghai before expanding to Beijing. With Shandong as the core market, China VoIP & Digital Telecom Inc. is confident of using the Shandong model to expand its presence in the the two Chinese major cities. The company also intends to make a significant investment in the infrastructure of each market to build up the system. The amount of investment was not disclosed. According to statistics from the company’s press release, Shanghai is one of the Mainland’s leading communication centers with more than 4.4 million Internet users, while the capital Beijing is the second-largest city with four million Internet users. VoIP is a real-time communications system that converts voice into digital packets containing media and signaling data that travel over networks using Internet Protocol.
