Jan. 25, 2007 (China Knowledge) – Technology and media company Thomson <TOC> will partner with Chinese advertising firm CGEN to form an advertising network in China and across Asia.
Thomson’s subsidiary Premier Retail Networks and CGEN will offer services for in-store television, cinema advertising and out-of-home networks, the firms said in a joint statement released on Tuesday. No financial details, however, were provided.
The statement added that CGEN, which was founded in 2003, is China’s largest network-based in-store TV operator, with a 65% market share of premium hypermarkets. The Chinese firm also has strategic partnerships with hypermarket operators including France's Carrefour <CA> and British home improvement retailer Kingfisher's <KGF> <KGFHY> B&Q chain.
