Architect Rafael Moneo supervised the work and Mármoles Camar supplied the materials.

Their Royal Majesties, the King and Queen of Spain attended the ceremony to inaugurate this building located in Madrid in the month of May.
One of the most important reasons for choosing Mármoles Camar was its willingness to do the project using the original materials of the existing building: Grey Granite from Alpedrete for the ground floor, White Alconera Marble for the first floor and piano nobile, White Statuary Marble for singular elements like pieces of sculpture, ornamental details, medallions and columns, and Bateig Sandstone for the keystones of the arches.
Moreover, as the Macael quarry was too small to obtain the amount required for the project, the workforce and all the quarry machinery necessary had to be moved to the Alpedrete Grey Granite quarry, in Alpedrete (Madrid-Spain). They even travelled to Carrara, Italy, to choose more material.
350 m3 of granite obtained from the Alpedrete quarry, 625 m3 of white Alconera marble, 75 m3 of white statuary Michelangelo-type Carrara marble and 5 m3 of Bateig sandstone were used. In all, over 1,000 m3 were used in the building.
José Sánchez Martínez and Antonio Sánchez Tapia, founder and manager of  Mármoles Camar, underlined the experience of working on such a highly-demanding project which was satisfactorily completed and their ranking in the sector as one of the companies to be considered both at home and throughout Europe.
