Feb. 6, 2007 (China Knowledge) – China UnionPay Ltd. has announced FreeStar Technology Corp.’s Rahaxi Processing as its approved third-party service provider in Europe.

This agreement enables Chinese visitors to use their China UnionPay credit and debit cards during their visits to Europe, and allows European banks to process cardholder transactions at their merchant terminals and ATMs.

Financial details of the deal were not provided.

China UnionPay is China’s largest credit card issuer, and introduced credit cards only in 2006.
