Feb. 6, 2007 (China Knowledge) – Unilever, the world's second-largest food and detergent company, expects sales in China to grow by double digits and overtake India as its number one market in the Asia-Pacific region. Zeng Xiwen, vice president of Unilever China, said that high consumer spending and a surging economy have fueled a strong sales performance in China. He added that China is posting the fastest sales growth among all markets in the world. Currently, the Chinese market ranks third in the Asia Pacific, followed India and Indonesia. Sales on the Mainland jumped more than 20% to RMB 5 billion in 2006, said Zeng.
