Feb. 8, 2007 (China Knowledge) – Hana Bank, a unit of South Korea's fourth-largest financial services company Hana Financial Group Inc., announced plans to set up a local subsidiary in China this year
The subsidiary, to be headquartered in Beijing, will supervise Hana Bank's sales branches in Shanghai and Shenyang and its local unit Qingdao International Bank. It will be in charge of operating three local banks in the northeastern China, which the company is currently talking about acquiring.
Hana Bank’s move to set up a Chinese subsidiary is part of its plan to emerge as one of the major financial firms in East Asia by 2015.
