Feb. 16, 2007 (China Knowledge) – The National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) has approved of China National Petroleum Corporation’s (CNPC) large oil-refining project with capacity of 10 million tons.
CNPC, China’s largest oil and gas producer will invest a total of RMB 15.2 billion in the project, which will be located in Qinzhou of southwest China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
Upon completion in 2008, the project will mainly refine crude oil produced by CNPC outside China. The project will also enhance competition between CNPC and its major domestic rival Sinopec Group in the market of southwest China.
