Feb. 23, 2007 (China Knowledge) – Lyondell Chemical Co. announced that the Chinese government has given it final approval to set up a manufacturing plant with Zhenhai Refining and Chemical Co. Ltd. in Ningbo.

When construction is completed in 2009, the plant will have a capacity of 274,000 metric tons of propylene oxide and 602,000 tons of styrene per year, and will use Lyondell’s technology for cost effectiveness, according to a statement from Lyondell. Setup costs were not disclosed.

Lyondell Chemical Company (Lyondell) is a global chemical company that manufactures and markets a variety of basic chemicals and gasoline blending components, including ethylene, propylene oxide (PO) products, inorganic chemicals, and refining.
