China plans to increase oil, gas pipelines by 63% by 2010 |

Feb. 23, 2007 (China Knowledge) – China plans to build another 25,000 km, or 63%, of oil and gas pipelines by 2010 to support the country’s economic development, said the China Petroleum Pipeline Bureau (CPPLB). According to Su Shifeng, director of the CPPLB, a leading company in China’s oil and gas pipeline transportation industry, the length of China’s oil and gas pipelines currently total 40,000 km. The CPPLB undertakes the construction of more than 80% of China’s oil and gas pipelines and over 75% of China's crude oil storage tanks. Last year, the CPPLB posted profits of RMB 420 million, up 82.6% from 2005.
