Association, which has more than 110 registered members held meetings in Beijing, Chengdu and Shanghai to promulgate the elaborate stones from Alicante, Spain. In the meetings, the SSA introduced the characters and application of the Spanish marble to the architects, designers, installation companies and the stone-trading corporations. Valencia, which is located in the east Spain on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea, is the most important center on the marble quarrying, processing and selling. Of which, more than 80% of the production is centralized in Alicante state where above 100 types of rare stones are stored. The stone industry is one of the backbones in Spain. Its yearly output is 530 thousand CBM, among which 50 thousand CBM raw materials sold directly and 480 thousand CBM sold after processing. The total value of the output is 661 million Euro. Demands on Spain Cream, Coral Red, fei Net and the limestone are largest. In order to meet the increasing demand, the Spanish stone industry has invested up to 120 million Euros to update its techniques and equipments in recent years in order to produce products of higher quality. The Valencia stones are exported mostly to America, China, France, HongKong, Japan, Mexico, Korea, Britain and Brazil. The Valencia stone industry believes that the rapid economy development of China and the 2008 Beijing Olympic will bring very good business chances to the building materials industry. They are attracted by the promising market in China and will try their best to catch the great chance. It is reported that the Spanish Cream, Coral Red and Feinet are very popular stones to many top grade construction projects.
